MED FRIGO in the e-CMR era

04/16/2019 - 08:06

In the framework of the AEOLIX LL12 e-CMR program led by IRU (International Road Transport Union) and coordinated in Greece by the Hellenic Federation of Road Transports (OFAE), MED FRIGO completed on Friday, April 12, 2019, in collaboration with Nestle Hellas, the first cross-border food shipment from Sevares, Spain, to Aspropyrgos, using digital.

Upon pick up and delivery, a digital signature was placed, accompanied by a timestamp and an indication of the coordinates of the loading-unloading points. At the Nestle (Diakinisis) distribution center, the unloading was supervised by the Director-General of Transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport and executives of the companies and agencies involved.

MED FRIGO has already received the next 2 shipments sent from Spain to Greece. Following that, MED FRIGO, always a pioneer, will also use the application for its shipments, full and partial, from Greece to Spain, thus carrying out the first export operation to a European destination.

With this pilot implementation, Greece (through MED FRIGO) has achieved significant success at a pan-European level and, together with Spain, France, and the Netherlands, has become one of the first countries to use the benefits of digitization of transport documents, aiming to improve transparency and quality in international transport.

MED FRIGO has a firm and ongoing commitment to invest in new technologies to benefit its customers.
